ed25519 keys aren't working for me for some reason...

Thanx ماجد

I really like your contributions too - and I don't think you have been "kicked-out" from the forum or are a person non-grata  perhaps a misunderstanding: as you regularly update your images and posted updates in a dedicated forum thread about "official OpenWrt". So it made sense to open your own thread here, as people also ask specific questions for your build. Also it is more easy to find&follow, when you have your own thread.

Ultimately I would wish, that your contributions would flow somehow into official OpenWrt

Hello @danpawlik ,

thank you very much for your config. Are able with it to limit TX power ?
With your config I am always at 27 dBm.
Thanks again.

I added it here along with fixing some issues in ethernet performance

Hi @woziwrt by any chance do you have the mt76 eeprom format? I can dump the eeprom embedded in the mt7996 and I can see that they have not set the power for band 2.4 and 5. (/sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy0/mt76/eeprom)

Also I can see that your fix detects this and loads a bin from the file system, but I would like to see what is inside the eeprom in case some calibration is lost.

Also I assume that there is no way to modify this efuses, right?

I cannot find anything in /sys to allow suser to limit the txpower

Also it was weird but 6ghz band was refusing to start, I had to set GB in the router and in my laptop, then I was able to change to my region and now 6ghz looks stable... I wonder if this is because in the wifi regdb they 6ghz show 320mhz and I am publishing 160mhz.... I would imagine that if you are allowed to use 320mhz width you should be able to use 160mhz too.....

Up until beta_4_ext_upd-1.0 I was using a modified regdb with all restrictions removed. From this version onwards I am using the official regdb.
Here you might find answers to your questions in combination with this notice

Since the OpenWRT UCI haven't introduce the formal MLO config yet, please refer to the MAC80211 MT76 Programming Guide to Setup AP MLD and non-AP MLD (STA MLD) The default power control from user space is disabled to follow the maximum power from eFuse. If you would like to enable power-relevant features (e.g., SingleSKU/iw set Tx Power) make sure to set 'sku_idx' to zero for a single SKU table or to any positive number for the index of SKU tables you want in the hostapd configuration to enable it. You can double-check whether the value under '/sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy0/mt76/sku_disable' is 0.

Cheers

Thanks that document will keep me busy for a while!!!

Hello,
I tried some combinaisons of different options in order to limit TX power to respect the law in my country but I didn't manage it.
Is there an exemple configuration for this image which work ?
Thank you very much.

I tried your latest firmware and I couldn't get the 6Ghz radio to broadcast at all, it doesn't even show as disabled but it doesn't actually broadcast anything. That's even after reflashing the firmware and using the wireless configuration provided in the firmware.

6Ghz working great for me. Better than 5 and 2Ghz actually. Used the configs posted by @Pega_de above in post# 222.

Same to me 10 of 10 (its working fine) , only one issue with WIFI I mentioned it previously which is the stability of the speeds

@mathieulh
I'm sure there is something wrong on your configuration , try to not save your configuration when you flash @woziwrt image

Remove the tick from first option..

Note : BPI-R4 with WIFI-6 & 7 need power supply +25W as per company
if your power supply lower than 20W you will face issue with system

same here. After clean flash on clean sd card 6 GHz wifi doesn't work. In Luci it is active but is not advertised. All settings were kept stock.

While with previous version beta 4 update 1 6 GHz works just fine so certainly some issue with update

6Ghz working fine for me on Woziwrt beta 4 upd 2.0. Check your config, or check the antennas on your BE board aren't loose or disconnected.

Could someone explain to me which SSID I should disable or keep them all? I don't understand why I get two SSIDs for each band.

@RosendoRivas

  • The green one with arrow is related to MLO (AP) which has all bands (depend on device and not fixed frequency "changeable"
  • The light blue box is related to single band where if you want only to use 6ghz or 5ghz or 2.4ghz

so you can keep them or disable unused one ,, for my case i'm using only
OpenWRT-6G (320Mhz) and Openwrt-5g (160Mhz)
I disabled all other WIFIs
