In this beta 2 release for BPI-R4 and BPI-R4 poe with Ethernet RSS and @rmandrad frames and with the user wishes regarding packages extensions mentioned in this thread and received via PM are taken into account

In the next releases I expect finalize of Ethernet LRO, addition of thermal zone and additional WiFi 7 improvement. The road to the final version of WiFi 7 will probably be long because

already implemented in beta 2:

Please keep in mind that this is still a beta release, which means that it is a release with limited functionality intended for testing

kmod-tun ? I know you won't build "on request", but maybe is worth just to keep some modules you already did for someone in next builds ? As long as they won't affect your primary target.
Also, could you move away from your current file hosting ? It is being blocked in some networks...

Just hint for others that have a fan attached to BPi-R4:

echo 100 > /sys/devices/platform/pwm-fan/hwmon/hwmon0/pwm1

Helps neutralize the whine of the fan

EDIT:
One more question: I spotted that mtkhnat does not work/can not start.
After checking how it is executed it is complaining:

root@MTK-BPi-R4:~# /sbin/mtkhnat
Failed to find mtkhnat. Maybe it is a built in module ?

Regarding the fan, in one of my posts in this thread I recommended that those who are annoyed by the sound of the fan type

echo 1 or 2 > /sys/class/thermal/cooling_device0/cur_state

Thanks for the info about mtk-hnat...I'll try to fix it in a future version.

Now I've decided that before my next attempts at improving wifi, performance an so on I have to figure out how to create a thermal zone just like in mainline. Maybe you could help me

I tested the R4 with a 10G ONU SFP+ stick with a 10G fiber connection with PPPoE but I only get like 1.9gbps with packet steering in all cores. without the steering is like 1.5gbps.
On a ryzen 4650G I get around 8.5gbps which is the same speed that the router provided by the ISP achieves.

Is there a possibility of some kind of HW pppoe offloading with the filogic platform?

This is a beta release for testing, not the final release, and every alpha or beta versions usually have some bugs that are gradually removed. The question is how long it takes to remove them...sometimes it never happens

but with official openwrt its limited to 60 Mb/s

Good morning, just enter with winscp or if you use linux on the router in the etc/wireless file there you have it, change this

config wifi-mld 'ap_mld_1'
option ifname 'ap-mld-1'
option mld_id '1'
option ssid 'MT76_AP_MLD'
option encryption 'sae'
option key '12345678'
option sae_pwe '2'
option ieee80211w '2'

put your ssid and change the password and restart and that's it, the name you put will appear.

I only have the problem with the fan constantly running at full speed.
