Back to stock (RE305/RE200)

I went back to stock by using the online tp-link sysupgrade creator, flashed it over TFTP and I seem to be running tp-link firmware as I have there interface but serial says root@openwrt when I press enter

Is there firmware based on openwrt or am I running two firmwares

Stock is based on Openwrt, most of them are.

I never realised that

They don’t mention it anywhere I looked

There's a reason why TP-Link and most other vendors provide (crippled) open source archives for their devices.

it makes sense why openwrt works then

I know this is off subject now
is RE450 v4 stock based on openwrt because wouldn't I be able to install packages over serial and enable 802.11r support like I need

or do they disable opkg

You can transfer packages via SCP, or wget, but anything requiring additional kmods will not run.

And the sw you install, won't probably be found in the UI.

The packages are only compressed tar archives anyway, you can always unpack them manually.

so my plans could still be possible
there is a very small chance probably

maybe not read only filesystem

all I need is all my wifi device to have 802.11r fast roam but tp-link dont have it
