AW1000 Unable to reach luci after recovery

Hi there,

I was testing around with adblock-fast on my router
https://openwrt.org/toh/arcadyan/astoria/aw1000#modem_configuration

Mistakenly i deleted dnsmasq with the intention to fresh install through System-software.

This kinda broke my install, so i decided to: recovery flash : by powering off the router, holding the reset button while powering on, going to http://192.168.1.254/ where the Uboot interface lives to upload and flash a .UBI file, release the recovery button to auto reboot.

The next step after this is to log back into fresh Luci, and flash a .bin file from there.

My problem lies in between these steps, i can't reach luci through ethernet cable on 192.168.1.1. It gives me a timeout error. I've set my ip manually.

Before i also did this ;

ping test:

So i'm not sure what to do now, my clients are seeing a WAN called OpenWrt, no internet open network.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, i'm starting to wonder if i bricked my device ? :stuck_out_tongue:

Any specific UBI file, or something random ?

https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/troubleshooting/failsafe_and_factory_reset should always work, unless your random UBI file made things worse.

HeY Frollic, nice to read you here again. Thanks, yeah random was the case ! the vendors .bin file fixed it. Had no idea could recover with .bin files as well. Have a good one and many thanks for being helpful! Love this project guys
