So I have my bgw320 in ip passthrough and have openwrt on my NanoPi R6S set up. Is there anything special to do for IPv6? Since I read that IPv6 is kinda weird with ATT. Not sure if there’s anything extra to do to have IPv6 work properly with ATT fiber.
Just vlans:
DUID issue on stable for me. Make sure PD is issued and not blank in the gateway after install/sysupgrades.
So I didn’t do anything extra but the PD is blank in The gateway.
Only thing I did was disable WiFi. Firewall. Packet filter and assign ip passthrough. PD in gateway is blank.
Must reset every time to get ipv6 working. If you don't, it will die and take out your entire connection.
So that’s to get PD working back. Do I still have to do vlans as well?
Just PD; stable has the DUID issue and may get fixed. If you want more than 1 /64, follow the wiki.
Also I have another question. When I go to status then routes in openwrt. I see two wan ips. It shows my gateways IPv4 device ip and the public ip given to my router. Is that normal? I understand att doesn’t have bridge mode so does it have to do something with that?
Currently, every suggestion to fix this receives either disapproval or silence.
I went ahead and wrapped a first step into a PR. So far, silence again.
Do I need to assign IPv6 assignment length on the lan and wan6 interface? Currently it is on disabled by default.
For the normal routed setup, don't put the IPv6 assignment length on wan6. wan6 should request/get the delegated prefix from AT&T; the LAN is where you advertise a /64 to your clients. So I'd leave wan6 without an assignment length and set the LAN IPv6 assignment length to 64 if you want IPv6 on the LAN. If the AT&T gateway still shows a blank PD, fix/check that first, because the LAN setting will not help until wan6 actually receives a delegated prefix.
Ok cool perfect. Is there anything else I have to do for the configuration? I also see that on lan there is something unchecked called dhcpv6-pd
And yes I fixed that this morning. @cookiemonster gave me the solution. Thanks to him the PD in gateway was not blank anymore and I can see the PD from the bgw320 is /64
As of today, you will have to remember to do that each time you upgrade. The other 7 /64 requires you to follow that wiki link to use.

For sure. Thank you! So just to recap all of this. There’s just a DUID issue so I just have to input the command you had listed to make sure PD is showing on the gateway. But on the openwrt side of things I don’t have to configure anything in the interfaces for wan6 and lan? I know by default the IPv6 assignment length for br-lan is disabled by default and I should set that to /64 to match the PD in the gateway. Nothing more to do besides that correct?
Correct. Defaults give you a /64 so no need to do anything. If you want 7 more /64, read the wiki.
If you want to light cash on fire, you can do a bypass and get /60. I will not provide a link as it is a very gray area. Search: "att fiber bypass 8311"
