The only time I had the same issue was when I booted my c2600 with a USB3 stick in the USB3 port, apparently some USB3 thumb drives interfere with the 2.4GHz wireless.
Unplugged it, rebooted, 2.4G radio came good, reinserted the thumb drive and all then behaved as it should.
