AT&T 802.1X Setup

Hey all, I am trying to bypass my ATT BGW210 GW. I have already downgraded it and pulled the certs from it. I have the certs moved to my OpenWRT router but have not been able to find working steps to get this working. I believe my wpa_supplicant.conf is correct but I am still not able to get this work. I am also using vlan 0 and have my Mac set to what the RG was. Does anyone have a full guide on what all is needed for this? I assume I am just missing a package or config somewhere. I have WPAD installed.

Seen Configure Openwrt for AT&T fiber ?

So that looks like it is just using openwrt with ATT. I know I can use IP passthrough with ATTs RG but I am wanting to bypass it outright. I have already extracted the certs from the RG I just need to figure out 802.1x on my WAN port to ATT now. I did have this working once before but I am struggling to remember the working config and I did not document it apparently.

Instead of:
ONT → ATT RG → OpenWRT

I want to:
ONT → OpenWRT

Ok nvm I got it working just needed a reboot I guess.

Here is all that is needed:

  • Move certs to openwrt
  • Remove default wpad package and install wpad
  • Build wpa_supplicant.conf file
  • Create init.d file
  • Reboot router
