ASUS TUF AX-6000 both 2.5GbE ports on LAN

Hello everyone,

My network consists of a modem that provides internet via DSL and an ASUS TUF AX-6000 (https://openwrt.org/toh/asus/tuf-ax6000) that I use as a switch. The ASUS connects to the modem via WiFi (as client), therefor I don’t use the WAN port on the ASUS.

Is there a way to have a server and a laptop that are both connected to the ASUS via cable communicate at 250 MB? Maybe to repurpose the WAN port to be used as LAN??

Looking forward to your ideas.

Thank you for your attention,
fabulous

Reassign wan port from wan to lan firewall zone.

You know you can buy a 4+ port 2.5GbE switch on Amazon for less than $30, right ?

Delete wan/wan6.
Move eth1 to br-lan.
Adjust vlans/firewall/etc if applicable.

Thanks guys!
I’ve manage to do it by assigning the wan port from wan to lan firewall zone.

@frollic I didn’t thought about buying a switch. Do you found switches that have wifi too?

I just wanted a very high speed connection between DSL and Device2 (ASUS TUF 6000), and as a limitation had to be via WiFi.

Nope, there's no such thing.
