about transfering OpenWRT to the router avoiding aftp...
useful if you are not in Linux (or have not TFTP client available)
also useful if you are in Windows...
or you just like me... always hacking for a easy way! 
in the documentation [OpenWrt Wiki] ASUS RT-N18U
suggests to put the router in the "Service mode" to use the TFTP client...
Just follow the steps until step #6
then open a browser and connect to router at 192.168.1.1...
you will get a "Service page" where you can upload the *.trx file...
and works fine... no TFTP client need!
