ASUS RT-N12 B1 No Wireless Menu

I just installed the latest supported version on an old ASUS RT-N12 B1. Everything went smoothly enough but when I log into LUCI there is no Wireless option in the Network menu.

I'm really not sure how to begin troubleshooting this one.

I tried re-uploaded the firmware from within LUCI and also did a Restore from the Backup / Flash Firmware menu but neither of those restored the wireless menu.

There is a 3-way toggle switch on the back of the device labelled "Router | Repeater | AP" but with OpenWRT installed it doesn't seem to have any effect as I have restarted the device with the switch in every position.

I see no flags on the OpenWRT hardware page for this router. and my Linux skills are basically nonexistent so I'm at a loss for the time being.

I welcome your suggestions.

Sadly that's broadcom wifi?

BCM5357B0 wifi?

No support in b43 driver?

Ah, I see. The Broadcom BCM5357 is not supported according to that list.
I'm pretty sure I've never heard of kernel.org so thanks for the tip; I'd never have found that on my own. At least not quickly!

So the router CPU is supported but not the Wireless hardware. Can that be added to the OpenWRT Wiiki page? I don't have editing access.

I'm pretty sure the 8M Flash /32M RAM tags, and broadcom tags are enough to keep most people away =P Plus the latest is only 22.03.7 and no 23.05?

But I guess someone could copy the warning label....

Try ddwrt ?
