I keep getting the message that the firmware upgrade was unsuccessful and I havent been able to figure out what I overlook..
Any suggestion? Thanks.
what are you upgrading to and from, using what ?

As a newbie in upgrading router firmware, I am trying to replace the factory firmware of my router (which has the newest factory firmware) with 24.10.0, using this link ..
Also tried 24.10.1 but get the same message.
that's the wrong file (and the what I asked about), follow https://openwrt.org/toh/asus/rt-ax59u, and make sure you use the .1 release (as noted in the wiki), not .0, you can find it here - https://firmware-selector.openwrt.org/?version=24.10.1&target=mediatek%2Ffilogic&id=asus_rt-ax59u.
I used your firmware selector link to use 24.10.1 but this led to the same message ..
probably how it should be, since you don't appear to have read the instruction...
i don't think I have done that. It's not as straightforward as I had hoped. Can you refer me to the correct instruction? thank you
it's very straight forward, you want complicated flash instructions, I'd be happy to provide you with some random examples.

so far you haven't told us what you're doing, and which files you're using (initramfs is wrong), we can't really work with "it doesn't work".
I think I have told you what I had done by telling that I had used one of the links you provided, the link to the firmware-selector ..

how about you read the "Installation" chapter instead of blindly ULing files ?
that's as close to spoon feeding as you'll ever get.
everything you need is written in the openwrt wiki. as openwrt itself does not provide vendor ui compatible images yet, you need to rely on 3rd party images for that part.

frollic, if you really want to help people, how about you dropping expectations and belittling and trying to meet people where they are (in terms of knowledge) rather than where you want them to be?
fine, then tell us which part(s) of the instruction provided are tricky ...
I may come back to your question later, if it is still necessary. I have not yet been able to thoroughly look for answers myself, but I am going to do so. If I still can't find out, I'll ask another question here. Thanks
