ASUS RT-AX53U can't access web interface after install

I installed OpenWrt using the provided instructions on the router page, using the "OEM easy installation" method over ssh.
I am unable to open the web interface on 192.168.1.1 (connection refused), however I do have internet access and am able to ssh into the router. Speedtest also gives me max 100 Mbps when it used to be 750 Mbps up/down.
