Hey i have an archer c6 v2(us) router with gigabit speed bandwidth. i installed 23.05.5 but Im getting 120mbps max on 5G. In stock (tp link) i get around 400-600. I did try the latest stable version also but same issue here too. Important thing to mention with Ethernet connection on pc I'm getting 910-945 mbps the issue is with wireless 5G.
Help mee what tooo dooo...
TIA
The stock firmware uses closed source drivers which can perform better.
You may be able to get better 5g performance by adjusting the wireless channel and bandwidth.
Did tired but not getting full speed I'm getting 120 download and 20-30 upload speed only
what does OpenWRT say in "Wireless Overview" under RX/TX rates when you test? It usually says something like "866.7 Mbit/s, 80 MHz, VHT-MCS 9, VHT-NSS 2, Short GI" etc...
What channel do you use? 80Mhz channels needs to be "aligned" correctly. Have you chosen "AX" mode under configuration?
Press "Edit" on your wireless connection, set channel to 36, set mode to "AX" and width to "80Mhz". Also, check that your country configuration supports the channel.
My country doesn't support 36 channel and 80 MHz is already selected with AC mode(Ax not available)
OK, sorry. did not know that C6 is AC only router. But even AC should be able to deliver 500Mbit on 80Mhz. That being said, in order to use 80Mhz you need to have a contiguous 80Mhz available in your country configuration.
Is channel 52 available?
Basically, for this to work both router and client need to support 80Mhz, support AC and use contry/channel configuration that allow devices to use four channels.
Can you fit your 80Mhz connection into something in this map and still be legal with your contry regulation? What channel did stock firmware use?
My country has 149 153 157 161 165
In stock i used auto but it was 161 most probably.
One thing to mention I'm getting full gigabit with Ethernet connection on my pc
Each channel is 20Mhz wide. When you configure channel 149 and use 80Mhz, it basically means "start with channel 149 and use three more to the right (153 157 161)".
If you configure 161 and 80Mhz wifi driver will probably default to only two channels (40Mhz) as there are no more available higher up.
I'm using 149 on OpenWRT and getting 110dl 20-30 up...
But not the full gigabit i think there is issue with 5G range
you've seen the 5G radio warning on the c6v2 wiki page, right ?
unclear what "buggy" actually means though ...
im not using latest build and also changed the atk10 mod
