Archer A7 Slow WiFi Speeds as AP

Hi all, my current setup I am using a Raspberry Pi 4 as my router, and have a TP-Link Archer A7 v5 acting as my dumb AP. Everything works great over wires, I get 950 Mbps which is about 50 Mbps more than I got with stock firmware. However, over WiFi, I get considerably slower speeds. I'd get about 500 Mbps on stock over 5 GHz and about 300 Mbps over 2.4 GHz. On OpenWrt I get 250 and maybe 100. Is this just an issue with not have proprietary drivers? I know it's not a throughout issue because my Pi barely breaks a sweat pushing nearly 1 Gbps over Ethernet.

Any help or suggestions are welcome
