I recently installed Openwrt on an Archer A6 v3 router, was happy with the results but the router randomly shuts off, it has happened at least 3 times that we know of.
Looks like the router shuts off with the 1st LED blinking, then it too shuts off, so all LEDs are off, it needs to be unplugged and plugged back in and it works normal once rebooted.
Haven’t tried an ethernet connection when this happens but I assume that wouldn’t work either.
Any ideas before I re-install the factory firmware?(which was rock solid)
Thanks
Updated to 23.05 RC2
The C6v3 had similar issues for a few people, including me, and there were lengthy discussions around the cause and such. I "fixed" it on almost all devices with a script to free memory once it seems as if it is about to run full, which might lead to the crashes: Archer C6 on 22.03.2 crashes every ~3 days - #98 by Nihilokrat
Haven't tested the latest RCs though, so it might be better/fixed already after your recent upgrade.
Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind, did all of the LEDs go off when it happened?
I haven't observed it myself but people have reported that only power LED is on/blinking when the crash happens.
Mine happens differently but could still be the same problem
Same problem with 23.05, gonna go back to the factory firmware
