Archer A6 v2 EU, 5 GHz radio does not show on LuCi

I just installed OpenWrt 24.10.0 on an Archer A6. (24.10.1 is still not available for EU on Firmware Selector) Immediately after logging into LuCi, the Wireless page has no mention of the 5 GHz radio at all:

Is this expected, possibly because 5 GHz radio is unsupported in OpenWrt? Wiki suggests 5 GHz radio to work, even if there are range issues as of 19.07. I'm pretty sure hardware is not the issue as the radio was up in the OEM firmware.

If it's not supposed to be this way, how can I diagnose and potentially get 5 GHz back up and running?

Probably related - https://openwrt.org/releases/24.10/notes-24.10.1#known_issues.

Try 23.05.5 instead.

That appears to be the issue I'm facing indeed. I'll wait for 24.10.1 builds before committing to 23.05. At least one comment on the GitHub issue claims that the .1 may have fixed it even if it's a different model.

Speaking of 23.05, is downgrading a normal function in OpenWrt? I've never done done it.

.1 is official, if it's not working, it's not fixed.

You can simply sysupgrade (sysdowngrade really ,) ) to 05.5, but do a reset of your settings while doing it.

.1 build for A6 EU is not out yet. That's why I'm cautiously hopeful.

Thanks, I'll keep in mind. I'll close this topic when I get to try .1 and/or downgrade to 23.05.5.

Interesting, no idea why it haven't been built.

All builds for 24.10.1 are complete. If an image is missing, it means it failed to build for one reason or another, the buildlogs would be the first thing to check.

Checked the .1 build for A6 EU/RU/JP just now and it showed up. Will sysupgrade it right after this post.

That said, where do you check the buildlogs?

And looks like I've to do this to get 5 GHz back. .1 has dashed my cautious optimism.

For the record, I did not end up downgrading to 23.05.5 and instead opted for manually inserting the board file to enable the 5 GHz radio, following these instructions on GitHub. This involves downloading OP's file, which must be done at your discretion.

If you're not comfortable with trusting a file from a stranger or doing the necessary extraction/generation of the board file on your on, consider downgrading as suggested in this thread or simply wait for future versions as necessary patches appear to have already been worked on.
