Arcadyan AW1000 NSS Builds

Hi @yff0216 sure, I'll add kmods needed for that so you can just install other packages needed.

Thank you very much, this module needs to be added during compilation, thank you, waiting for your new version

Hi @xHikari . I would like to thank you for your excellent firmware build. It has really been excellent!

I would like to ask you a question which i am not sure if it is related to your firmware or to the device itself. I can't update the packages of the 1.2.1b build due to the Disk Space being only 29.60MB and i am getting errors for not enough space

Please see below image for your reference

When going to Mount Points, i can see the /deb/mtdblock18 with 100MB and /dev/ubiblock0_1 with 35.36MB which are not used

Could this mean that the device is not properly partiotioned? Is it hardware or firmware related?

Thank you in advance for your kind assistance

Hi there, thanks for this great build, it unlocks the true potential of my router. And the Ui is beautifull!

I am wondering if there is any wireguard guide available for 24.10 ? i've tried this wireguard openwrt setup guide but it doesn't seem to work (it sais not tested on 24.10, hence my question).
Or does it have something to do with the vpn0 interface that might interfere ?
Wireguard status sais: latest handshake: never

How can i extend storage with a usb drive to install large packages (when trying to install larger package i get notified: no space)

Anyhow love your build thanks a lot.

Have a good one guys !

Edit: changing back to v1.1.3b solved my issues !

Many Thanks xHikari!

@denexo mine appears the same as yours, but it doesn't give errors of low space. I came from openwrt stock and I believe the partitioning was the same.

@esvee i noticed the issue when i tried to update the luci-app-tailscale package that also updates the relevant tailscale package. That has been some time ago since i have installed the router in a remote location. I will try again in around two months period when i will be on-site.

Hello and thank you for your contribution. Is there an online emulator of the GUI that you have created so we can see what is included? Does it include a section for wireguard connections, does it include the telephony options? Thank you.

Hi @Patrat , no I don't have a demo/emulator online for the build. But will add it on my "Nice to have" list.

My new build is up!

@Hikari Thank you for the reply, on your build does the WAN port work so the router can be used with a cable internet modem rather than 5G?

Yes, you can use the 2.5G WAN port for other wired base internet

I have created nss firmware for aw1000 router.

@xHikari Can we use the arc_data partition (mtd25) which is 683MB and is unused for /overlay use?

Yes

Maybe check this out

I received my aw1000 this week, I checked and it already has the expanded layout. It also had a strange openwrt custom version without the the flash image button in the backup / flash firmware section, so I had to force the flash through the command line using sysupdate.

Probably now I’ll try the @Chmod extended version even though I would need much less stuff than what's inside

Well, I installed the ChamodyaWRT Extended and I see that watchcat is installed by default, but why with all that stuff in the firmware isn't luci-app-watchcat installed too?? Of couse not a big problem, I installed myself, but just for the future.

Then I’ve an issue when I try to connect to the main wi-fi with my android phone with a private dns (adguard) active. Pratically the phone says that he can’t connect to the private dns and I’ve no connection, but if I connect the same phone to the guest wi-fi this issue is not present. I’ve the same issue with the hikariwrt. With all my other openwrt routers I never had this issue.

Adblock allows to set ā€œforce local DNSā€. This setting might be active and causing your issue accessing a private DNS.

HTTPS-DNS-Proxy might also set ā€œForce Router DNSā€ preventing clients to use a private DNS.

You may want to verify if these settings are active in custom build.

Oh yes, thank you. I had checked the adblock and it was disabled but I hadn’t checked HTTPS-DNS-Proxy… too much things I’m not used to use in that build

But, at the end, you’re right the issue was about the ā€œForce Router DNSā€œ enabled. Disabling it everything is working fine now.

Hi, thanks for the update. Luci-app-watchcat is available in the latest release (ChamodyaWRT v5.4 Expanded).

Also, HTTP-DNS-Proxy is enabled by default. I will set it to be disabled by default in future releases.
