i thank you vm for your help!

How is EnGenius related to the Foneras?

The chipset is common

then I guess you can post your questions at some Linux forum, it's equally "common".

AFAIK the EnGenius EOC-2611 isn't supported here.

What do you mean?
The fact that the ubiquiti uses the same chipset doesnt makes that device AR2316 based, compatible too?

Compatible in what way, exactly?

AR2316 (ath5k SoC) has been removed from OpenWrt builds for several years.

but how could i flash openwrt into that device?
i got a redboot access

You can't, unless you dig up some ancient version, no one's going to want to touch.

Then, you still need to add the actual device support.

Not exactly true as ath25 (AR231x based devices) were still supported by https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/22.03.6/targets/ath25/generic/

Depending on how much RAM (I recall 32MB being the max supported) your particular device has you may need to do a custom build eliminating any unnecessary packages.
