AP+STA, when source's hotspot of STA is not detected, to get AP up anyway?

The Travelmate package is commonly used for this purpose.

openwrt AP+STA, AP never gets up if STA is not connected, thirt part wlan hotspot ("source") is not detected/in range.

Just FYI - this is normal. The AP needs to know the correct channel (i.e., from the STA). Travemate was used to get around this.
