Any Support for the NETGEAR GS305E or similar Switches?

Hi, all!

I searched the ToH, and found that the NETGEAR GS308T switch is supported. I was wondering if that meant that other similar switches like the GS305E would also be supported in theory, just not tested yet?

If not, I'd like to either request that support be added in the future, or aid in its future support. I would love to help out in any way possible.

Thanks!

in theory everything is supportable, until somone opens the device up, and checks the actual hardware it uses.

there's no such wish list.

For NETGEAR devices a visit to NETGEAR Open Source Code for Programmers (GPL) is a good start to determine whether the device is currently running an OS derived from Open Source. If it is not listed it is most likely currently running a proprietary OS. From my experience the GS3xxE series switches are not smart switches and therefore do no have a SOC capable of running Linux.

It ain't like that the theory of support goes.
It goes like β€œdoes it have a Realtek RTL838x SoC installed or not?”
