Also, for the vdsl.bin file (vdsl firmware) I put it there manually (so I save a lot of space on the final image, I can also remove bspatch and some other stuffs). I use the last available version redistributable version (the same openwrt normally use: http://mirror2.openwrt.org/sources/dsl_vr9_firmware_xdsl-05.08.01.08.01.06_05.08.00.0B.01.01_osc.tar.gz
