Hi there, my goal was to log in an eduroam Network across the street and spread the WLan in my apartment with this combination: R36AH with AWUS036ACM and an Alfa Networks firmware called CampPro. Problem is that eduroam needs user and password plus SSL-Certifikate. The SSL-Certifikate isn't delivered by CampPro. My idea was to use openwrt and a linux certificate chain. I flashed the R36A firmware to my R36AH. The USB port doesnt seem to work so the AWUS036ACM isn't working. Is there a way that the The USB port and the AWUS036ACM is getting to work under openwrt? I flashed this one for the R36A: openwrt-23.05.0-ath79-generic-alfa-network_r36a-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin . Thanks for Help
kmod-mt76x2
?
ok, I'm an expert, I'll try. Thanks
It does recognise the device as radio1
Generic unknown
Device is not active
Any more ideas, thanks
wanted to write NOT an expert
Restart it then enable it?
doesn't change
does that maybe help?

If you go to Network/Wireless does the radio show up 'disable' or 'not present'?
Hi Jeff, I moved a bit further but that also lead to more confusion. When I start the router without the AWUS036ACM plugged in and plugg it in when the rooter has finished booting its active as Aukey USBAC1200 802.11ac/b/g/n.
When I start the router with the AWUS036ACM plugged in its not active.
In both cases the WLan LED isn't flashing.
This may be an old screenshot but you have 7 changes that need to be 'Save & Applied'.
So do that then show me this new screenshot and the interfaces page.
Rosa Sofa is the AP you want to connect to, right?
Because it is connected as a client, to that AP but the signal is horrible: -83
You have 2 instances of Rosa Sofa and one of HarryChaos.
Then you have the Aukey tring to be a client to edopam.
Are either of those the SSID you want to be a client to? If not, what is the SSID you want to piggyback??
And did you use OpenWrt to change one of the two lan ports to a wan port?
Hi Jeff, first of all thanks for your effort. At the end I want to login into eduroam, HarryChaos should be my home network.
Im using Rosa Sofa temporarily because it only needs a passphrase to login. For eduroam you need a username + Passwort and a
SSL-Certificate chain. Encryption ist WPA2 802.1X (CCMP), RADIUS Server. I already have installed the wpad openwrt extension to realize that, but at the moment it is easier to use Rosa Sofa for the work on the router. So at the end I want to piggyback eduroam. Have a good one!
Because you did not reply to a post of mine I did not see you had replied.
Eduroam has what is called a captive portal? It goes to a webpage and you log in that way? Is that what you mean?
no webpage necessary but a certfile has to be accessed

In order to access eduroam while using Ubuntu, please proceed as follows:
• Download the root certificate T-Telesec Global Root Class 2 at DFN's pages (select PEM or
CRT format, e.g. by name “rootcert.crt”). Save the document at a temporary folder e.g.
“downloads”.
• Right click the WiFi icon within your upper task bar and select connection adjustment.
• Select the tab wireless network and the connection “eduroam” / “auto eduroam” for
adjustments, or click to add connections, in case “eduroam” does not yet exist as a
connection.
• Choose “eduroam” and enter the SSID “eduroam” by selecting the tab wireless network
• Select the tab wireless network security
o Make sure that your security settings are WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
o Set legitimisation to protected EAP (PEAP)
o Your anonymous identity is eduroam@tu-darmstadt.de
o Set Domain to: radius.hrz.tu-darmstadt.de
o Access your downloaded CA-certificate.
o Change the according legitimacy to MSCHAPv2
o Enter the login name of your WiFi account (e.g. mj30xoxolan00@tu-darmstadt.de)
and the corresponding password.
o Confirm this process by clicking apply.
• In case you do not have a TU-ID and want to use a guest account to access TU Darmstadt's
WiFi, please enter the username and the complete account name as the user's anonymous
identity.
• You can now access “eduroam”
I'll need to check this out after I sleep.
If someone that knows comes along they can walk you through it but, from what I can see, there are fields not occupied.
And others. Did you clear those fields?
Have a good one! I do have personal login credentials.
