Advice needed on Access Points and MESH

I am running Openwrt as my main router and i have 3 dumb access points. The building spans in 3 floors and garage/office. in between of the AP i have dead zones, no big deal. I have ethernet cables between the Router and the APs, as well to the places that i would like to add more APs.

i would like to expand the coverage by adding more APs but i need a couple of things:

-multiple SSID. Each SSID will be a VLAN in the router.

-MESH. So i could have a single SSID per VLAN in all APs.

-price

I am looking for 5 APs and 4 SSIDs in a single trunk

i am based in Europe. Please advice on the APs to get.

not the cheapest one, but good, Odido T-56's from wifilinks, 60€/pcs + shipping.

buy a router with wifi 6-7, it has good coverage and you won’t need so many access points

using the example of connecting a second router via wifi archer c20 and a distance of 50 meters, speed 4-5 mb

when connecting two routers via Xiaomi AX3000T wifi, the speed is 50-90 Mgb, distance of 50 meters, taking into account walls and other things, based on the fact that the provider itself provides 100 Mgb

just advice, change the router, and then you’ll see where else to install a second one if necessary

it is the buildings structure that blocks the signal reception coverage. That is why i have so many APs connected via cable to the main router.

Seems good, but it is a bit pricey. If you have something cheaper to propose, it will be nice.

If you've got cabled network connections to everywhere you have APs, you do not need any mesh networking.

Each AP just needs the same network and wireless configuration in terms of VLANs and SSIDs, with changes in channel being the only difference.

Did you make sure your 3 APs are utilizing different channels and do not interfere with each other and / or your neighbors? Just asking, that little exercise made a big difference for me, as opposed to setting them on “channel: auto”.

Also, 2nd on what @greem said.

Exactly this, simply using https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wifi/wifiextenders/bridgedap.
