Adguard Home | Disabling Plain DNS breaks internet

I’ve been using Adguard Home for a few months and everything is working well.

Last night I logged into my router and noticed the /tmp folder was full. I cleared the logs and changed the retention period to prevent it happening again. I noticed that I still had enable plain DNS enabled.

Encrypted DNS is up and running with a self-signed cert.

I tried disabling plain dns and it broke DNS for my network. My Wi-Fi clients all showed connected no internet.

Is this normal behaviour? Do I need to configure something else before I can force encrypted DNS?

Thanks.

DHCP passes you DNS servers on port 53. They dont get more creative about it than 30 years ago.
