Adding OpenWrt support to HPE Aruba AP22

I'd like to add hardware support to ap-505 (also sold as HPE Aruba Instant On AP22).
I'll keep the top post updated.

  • (ok) Hardware available
  • (ok) access via serial connection tested
  • (not yet) bootable image build
  • (not yet) wiki page ap-505
  • (not yet) working wifi drivers (802.11ax) for bcm47622
  • (not yet) official build integration

The bootloader is of the same generation as my other Aruba AP11 (APBoot 2.x), so I'm rather optimistic this will work out. I'll document my work in this thread, in case anyone wants to chip in.

Bootloader Log:

As soon as I have built an openwrt-image that boots, I'll try adding the wiki page with all the necessary structure and tags.

If you have any suggestions, please do tell!
I'm currently working my way through all wiki and wiki-outgoing-links that are relevant.

im looking into if you have news about it thanks!

Hi Deucalion, I have a Aruba 505, seems it's not aruba os. It's a new system, show broadcom logo. I want to change it back aruba or openwrt. If you want some info about my 505 or can help me change to aruba or openwrt. Please note. Thank you very much!
