Do you have any logs from stock firmware from that unit? I'm confused here, because it looks like ART location for ath9k matches neither variant.
I wish I did. I never imagined it would get this complicated. I'm almost at the point of buying an extra one just for the bootup log
Is anything else I can look into to help you figure this out?
I'm also looking at the logs for the first unit that appears to be working (running 286 23.05snapshot) but I think it's not showing 9k either? Any help?

If ath10k manages to probe, then maybe ath9k module is missing for any reason - but the calibration data location is good. They are located at standard offsets in the same caldata
partition.
I've been thinking about this.
Should I try to go back to stock firmware? I mean if you have a stock that I could try?
Could it narrow down the actual model to see if certain firmwares boot or not?
I don't have stock firmware for your device - let alone which exact variant it is. If you haven't backed it up, it's on you, sorry.
Can you try dumping the NAND flash partitions as they are now? I can take a look and try to judge what this device really is.
It's on me 100%
Just wondered if you might have something to try considering your knowledge of the equipment.
Can you give me the steps to dump the partitions?
Or can it be done as in 286R instructions (https://openwrt.org/toh/zte/mf286r#step_2backing_up_original_software)?
You can do that as per MF286R manual.
This modem supports VoLTE ? How config?
OK. I figure the caldata, kernel & ubi are the ones you need? I'll add the rest if needed.
Device sticker says MF286, it's from DNA finland. Currently has the Openwrt sysupgrade running but poorly.
The flash layout:

And files
No. I need the beginning, fota-flag included, to see real offset of the calibration data.
Only MF286D onwards, maybe MF286C does too, but I'm not sure about that.
You know how to config? Because call is dropping to 3G.

For me it just worked, because all polish carriers support the generic 3GPP IMS configuration with "ims" APN. I only needed to enable VoLTE at the carrier, then, and so didn't have to research further. If your carrier/ISP needs a custom profile, then I don't know how to switch them, sadly.
What does your modem say for AT+CGDCONT?
Allright, I checked the caldata file. This is the same funny MF286A with MF286 flash layout. Use the same snapshot build you did with the previous device.

I created the "ims" APN, but VoLTE won't worked
OK, I did sysupgrade to "openwrt-23.05-snapshot-r24133-33b45c0a0e-ath79-nand-zte_mf286-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin"
It accepts the file and reboots nicely, but there's still something buggy. Below is the whole log.
I see one ath10k error pop-up twice: ath10k_pci 0000:00:00.0: invalid calibration data length in nvmem-cell 'pre-calibration': 12064 != 2116

I added the fota-flag.bin to the files extracted.

I've checked your caldata again, the second one is a plain MF286, with QCA9880 instead of QCA9888.
I just flashed this on mine: https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/23.05-SNAPSHOT/targets/ath79/nand/openwrt-23.05-snapshot-r24147-b551214c9d-ath79-nand-zte_mf286-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin
Got the same warning, but the radio actually probes.

Agree. Running openwrt seems to work but I have pretty frequent cutouts in wifi (AC-mode) and also really poor range (max 7m indoors). Is it just a fluke or could that have something to do with this weird error?
