Confirmed 24.10.2 working on a RB01 with all the caveats. Used xmir-patcher to enable flashing through telnet as described on the wiki ("enable mesh telnet" did not work, and I didn't bother with the other remaining methords). Newer stock uboot, Reboot counter set to 8, that increased to 9 without issue.
Using the XMiR-Patcher method allows you to read all of the device's information and dump it into a .txt file. From there, you can look for the bootloader's build time:
➜ xmir-patcher git:(main) ✗ grep BuildTime full_info.txt
BuildTime: Fri, 20 May 2022 10:18:01 +0000
I was running 23.X and I tried to update it to the latest 24.10. The Web UI said that the layout has changed or something and that I need to install the factory image. So, I downloaded the factory.bin and installed it. I think my router is bricked. I cannot connect to it. It seems that the Ethernet port does not even work. The ‘system’ lamp shows solid orange.
In this case, what am I supposed to? Is there an easy way to get back to 23.X or get 24.10 working here (I have backed up the settings)? Or, do I need to use the ‘debricking’ method https://openwrt.org/toh/xiaomi/ax3200#debricking , which seems to install the stock firmware?
Follow TFTP recovery method. And then just make fresh install of 24.10.2 with xmir patcher. Original 24.10.0 image was broken it has been reported many times.
Finally, I fixed everything, but it took my whole Sunday afternoon. I flashed the ‘favourable’ image and then used the XMIR patcher. I wish the download page ( https://firmware-selector.openwrt.org/?target=mediatek%2Fmt7622&id=xiaomi_redmi-router-ax6s ) had some kind of warning for the upgrade, when the upgrade can break the system. I saw that the manual page ( https://openwrt.org/toh/xiaomi/ax3200#upgrading_openwrt ) had that warning, but people would not read the manual again each time they update existing OpenWRT.
Also, the Debricking part had some conflicting description that wasted my time. Below the commands, it says that I need to wait 10 minute and then reboot the router, but above the commands, it says that when the router flashes blue in a few seconds, I can reboot the router. No need to wait 10 minutes.
Don’t forget about softbrick after 6 reboots or you will need to repeat procedure…
现在5G无法正常开启有解决办法了吗
现在5G无法正常开启有解决办法了吗
You’re going to want to use English (even if auto translated) on this forum, it’s the preferred language.
Here’s the Google translated version
Is there any solution for the 5G not turning on properly?
Try plugging off power cable completely. Whenever I enable WED and then disable it, 5GHz stops working. Same problem with hardware offloading tables. They are not properly initialized, entries from previous session survive router reboot (and even reset!). I wrote about it already but no one seems to care enough.
Just in case, 24.10.3 sysupgrade went smooth too.
Did you do an attended sysupgrade? That is not working for me. It builds the image uploads it to the device and then nothing. Openwrt reloads and I’m stuck at 24.10.2. No entries in the log.
I’ve also tried owut upgrad, but the same thing happens. I see my firmware.bin in /tmp.
I must say, the reboot command also does nothing, only reboot -f works for me.
Tried it with and without updating my packages. I’m stuck at 24.10.2.
I used regular sysupgrade image.
Fixed. I apparently had a corrupt install of nginx on my router. Couldn’t repair, reinstall or remove it with opkg. Remove eveything by hand and presto. Reboot worked again and so did attended sysupgrade. Phew.
I week ago I’ve upgraded my AX6S from 23.05.5 to 24.10.2 and I’ve got stranger things happening with 5GHz wifi. Randomly approx. once in a couple of days the 5GHz dies and I see this message spamming in the syslog every 6 seconds:
Thu Sep 25 23:05:38 2025 daemon.err hostapd: Failed to set beacon parameters
Restarting the whole Phy helps. But I’ve never yet detected the beginning of this situation to catch the logs (if there is something at all).
Whatever…. doesn’t anyone else happen to have the same glitch?
Never saw it. Why don't you upgrade to 24.10.3? It has plenty of fixes (and, probably, bugs) in mac80211 subsystem.
A week ago it wasn’t available. Now it takes time because the plain attended sysupgrade doesn’t work for me while I have a couple of sideloaded packages (namely amneziawg VPN stuff). So need to find time to do everything.
wed is still broken at 24.10.3
hi there, after the recent snapshot versions ( as the one today r31448-7ef19bb9cd ), when i reboot the devices, both wifi 2.4 and 5G are disabled. If i restart them either by luci or with wifi command, both came online. Is this a known issue?
Probably similar to this. Although I don't experience it the way you describe it.
Thanks for looking in. I just did and it’s the same. Here is in Luci how the interfaces are:
Below the dmesg. Note after i issued wifi and the result follows after 119s. I see nothing wrong. It happens with default wifi configuration also. Model is RB01. A snapshot of 1 sept. does not have the issue.
Happy to provide any other information. I’ll mitigate the issue by issuing a wifi after the boot finishes.
