Hi, you would leave it stock and locked, but by following the xmir-patcher method on this website, you can do it all over again quickly:
well, seems like my router is indeed hardbricked, I just tried the dnsmasq tftp method and it stays on dnsmasq-tftp: TFTP root is /tmp/tftp
, doesn't show anything when the router turns on and the router still does the orange light and then reboots and orange light
EDIT: alright, I was following the second guide and it didn't mention the "hold the RESET button for 10 seconds while powering on", thankfully I saw that on the wiki. seems like it's coming back to life, thanks a million !!!
That's good, see if you can at least get it back to life with original firmware
Since this router does not have an alternative bootloader, but only STOCK, then it is 99.9% impossible to break it!!!
In these 99.9%, it is always restored by the standard MIWIFIRepairTool.x86 for Windows.
Don't look for adventures!
This is the first thing you should try. Even if your OS is not Windows. Overcome yourself and try it on it, or TFTP recovery, but there you need to be careful in many moments, but it works exactly the same as MIWIFIRepairTool.x86.
Hi, I didn't know the tool, I've been looking at it and it seems to be quite easy to use. I'll keep it in mind in case my router stops working one day. Thank you very much
Except mine which got hard hard bricked and I didnt even touch the bootloader
Well, if it's hard, then it's hard.
You know better.
Link to Russian-language site for flashing OpenWrt using UART on the European version of this router.
Do the same with an adjustment for your Chinese one.
Or what the author refers to, the English version.
24.10.2 sysupgrade image went smooth.
For those who is concerned about broken images...
I am, so: Thanks
edit: After 256 days uptime: upgraded to 24.10.2.
Hello my friends . are you able to help me as well. I have rb01 and 1.0.71 trying to use UART method.. I have 2 different USB TTL . eveything should be correct with my cables setup to Motherboard jumber I tried many serial terminal apps. I can see device logs in terminal while bootup but no chance to hit any key and get into U-BOOT ... I spent days... autohotkey scripts etc... and seems device terminall does not accept any action from me
I am trying to recover an AX3200 RD01 from a bad flash. I already recovered it sucessfully more than once before, but now it seems it is not sending the correct file name to the TFTP server.
In previous sucessfull recoveries, it requested a file via TFPT with the name like C0A81F01.img
. But now it seems sending a filename with an unitilaized variable (<iverson_uImage>
), details below.
Has anyone already faced this issue?
EDITED: never mind. Just renamed the firmware image to "iverson_uImage" and it worked. Weird...

I found xmi patcher tutorial and could enable ssh so let's forget UART method... someone please help me for next there are hundreds of posts and tutorials I am not sure which one is risk free about brick etc..
A few posts above I put the tutorial I used and everything went fine the first time.
My Ax6s is on 23.05.5, there is a easy ou automatic way to upgrade to 24.10.02 ?
No, there is no automated way to upgrade from 23.05.x to 24.10.x AFAIK.
You will need to do a one time manual procedure for this. See more details here.
After this one time procedure, you will be able to upgrade 24.10.x to newer versions normally.
I was scared, but I installed PuTTY and WinSCP and in the end it was much easier than I thought. Thank you very much!
exactly I saw it and could enable ssh by it. also flash factory firmware. then tutorial says after restarting we had openwrt installed!!! but I Reboot and everything is same as before where is openwrt!
Hi, did you use the factory.bin firmware? You can download it here: https://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots//targets/mediatek/mt7622/openwrt-mediatek-mt7622-xiaomi_redmi-router-ax6s-factory.bin
Did you get any errors during the installation process?
Anyone with 24.10.2 tried wed?
