For vanilla OpenWrt, the chances are -0%.
For community builds, it's possible, but currently not on the horizon (doesn't work properly yet, it's unclear if/ when that's to be fixed).
Have a check whether hardware accelerating enabled in firewall.
Yes, set it to Software flow offloading.
This will give you some extra speed, but it won’t come anywhere near stock firmware with NSS enabled.
Thank you. The speed has indeed improved a little.
Qualcomm IPQ SoC should support hardware flow offloading.
This setting could reach a max speed. But it is incompatible with QoS.
That's wishful thinking and not based on reality.
Great to see this is getting some traction!!! Ive had this device for nearly 5 years in the hope one day i could get openwrt going on it.
Sadly the slow wifi speeds seem to be a deal breaker atm. Im going to keep checking up on this and hope things improve!
Are speeds for the 5ghz bands still an issue? Thats the only thing thats keeping me back from flashing and giving it a go
Anyone tried latest snapshot (22/10/25) - https://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/targets/qualcommax/ipq50xx/?
would love to know if it fixes an of the speed issues we're having on 5ghz.
its the only thing holding me back from flashing

This is another attempt to bring up the AIoT radio. Changed to non-MPD Q6 firmware for IPQ5018 which rules out Q6 messing with clocks and resets.
Please test and post the boot log. Thanks!
No matter what build i try, got bootloop after sysupgrade.
Here's my kernel log after booting initramfs-factory.ubi:
CQC device
I was doing some tests and discovered that if I leave the channel at 80MHz in the default firmware, it has the same speeds as OpenWRT. To get better speeds, I need to set it to 20/40/80/160MHz.
That link is now dead. Got a other link? I'll try on my device
Any updates ?
Hello everyone,
I am considering installing the recent snapshot build 25.12.0-rc1 on my Xiaomi AIoT AX6000.
There are rumors that this version finally brings functional Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) support for this router. Could anyone who has tried this build share their experience?
· Is the Wi-Fi 6 (5 GHz ax) interface working stably and with good speed?
· Are both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios functioning correctly?
· Are there any critical bugs or issues to be aware of (e.g., with PPPoE, VLANs, or the stock 1G/2.5G WAN port)?
Thank you in advance for any feedback. A link to the build in question: https://firmware-selector.openwrt.org/?version=25.12.0-rc1&target=qualcommax%2Fipq50xx&id=xiaomi_ax6000
