Adding OpenWrt support for TP-Link Archer MR200 V4?

I'm attempting to build your image for the MR200 V4, but have never done anything like this before. I assume I need to get a copy of your code using

git clone https://github.com/Lochnair/openwrt/tree/mr200v4

but when I do this I get an error msg, repository not found.

What should I do to retrieve the source?

First, thanks a lot for your repo, it's very interesting.

I'm trying to make the firmware, but i have some issues.
I'm on debian 11 bulleseye.

I installed all required packages, gcc, etc...
I made a modification into prereq-build to be able to use gcc10:

I don't have any problems with "./scripts/feeds update -a"

But when I try to : "./scripts/feeds install -a", i have some warnings:

EDIT :
I have the same error on uBuntu 20.04.3 (with gcc9, so without editing prereq-build) but make menuconfig works.
Make doesn't works yet, but i'll work on it tomorrow

Next step is to upload firmware to my MR200 v4 (from ISP Orange Slovakia)...
For the moment i don't know how to start tftp... I tried ip 192.168.0.66 and 192.168.0.225, with mask 255.255.254.0 and 255.255.255.0 but it doesn't work

Thanks for the help. I managed to get git working now, but I'm just left with more questions now.
I have already built an OpenWrt build system, do I run the above command from within it, or does that command build it indendently?

Hello @balanga,

You should install gcc, binutils, bzip2, flex, python, perl, make, find, grep, diff,
unzip, gawk, getopt, subversion, libz-dev and libc headers (and g++ ?)

After clone openwrt, go into the dir openwrt and run:

./scripts/feeds update -a
./scripts/feeds install -a
make menuconfig
make

And if you don't have errors, that's all.

I have now compiled a 19.07.8 image with a modified uqmi.
It´s available at https://github.com/mrhaav/openwrt/tree/master/MR200v4

LEDs for signal strength are not working and I have not verified IPv6.

I would be happy if anybody who are testing this image could show your output of:

I tried Kali (but some problems with gcc), debian 11 (same), and finally with uBuntu i can do "make menuconfig" without errors.
But make doesn't work for the moment.

Target system : MediaTek MIPS
Subtarget : MT76x8
Profile : MR200 v4

I don't have SIM card, i want to use MR200 v4 as repeater, so i can remove "telephony" package, it is ?

Hi

If you will not use the LTE modem, then you don´t need to add the wwan interface and "my" commands.

If you will make your own image, I think it´s a good idea to add Luci, the web interface.

I'm currently using your image,
SSH works perfectly.
I activated wifi access point, put the IP to 192.168.0.1, like that i'm able to use my ethernet on my 1st router (because gateway is 192.168.1.1) and use my wifi to manage OpenWRT on 192.168.0.1

Could you share me your config file from "make menuconfig" please ? I would like to check what is your parameters, etc.... to learn.

I have successfully compiled my 1st image with uBuntu, but the basic one, without any modification.
And after the upload, I didn't have a graphical interface, but it's good I succeeded ^^

I installed successfully ArchLinux, I corrected the gcc version error (my version is 10) and prereq-build check only 9 max.
I have now a problem with "mkhash", when i update feeds, do you have similar problems ?

I fixed the mkhash error, by downloading https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/blob/master/scripts/mkhash.c
Then compiling with gcc -o and adding the compiled file in "/usb/bin"
But i still have the error :

Because there is no official OpenWrt support available yet.
There is no commit on github that adds support for this device.
There is no official OpenWrt image available on downloads.openwrt.org.
