Adding OpenWrt support for Aerohive AP-550

Hi all,

I have an Aerohive AP-550, I'm very keen to get Openwrt on it. It should be fairly similar to the AP-330 which is already supported and I have previously flashed an AP-121 which worked good.

The Ethernet drivers are Broadcom BCM47XX which is supported, but I have yet to find the CPU and wifi driver (I think its ath9k). Is there any trick to finding this info or is the best bet to pull it apart and read the part numbers off the chips?

Once I have this info is it just a case of downloading the latest stable and adding in the correct drivers and building?

thanks!

I found the CPU, its Broadcom BCM58525, doesn;t seem to be currently supported in openwrt, and a google search doesn't yield any results for open source drivers. Is this a case of requesting the vendor to release the source code?

Info I have so far is:
