Adding a OpenWrt/Pi between 4G router & Smart TV?

As the subject line says, I am trying to install a Raspbery Pi with OpenWRT 22.03.3 between a 4G router and a Smart TV.
As far as I can tell, the TV is able to connect to the internet as expected. However, when I enable the OpenVPN service, the Pi is protected (no entries in the traceroute) but the Pi is not? - All the hops from the traceroute command are listed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards, Martin

Is it, or isn't it ?

ipleak.net says not!

Traceroute through a VPN should show the VPN server's end of the tunnel (with OpenVPN, conventionally it is configured as 10.8.X.1) as the first or second hop, then hops through the Internet in the country where the VPN server is located.

Thank you all for your help. But it seems that I have not made myself clear :slightly_frowning_face:.
With the OpenVPN connection OFF, neither devices (eth0 = Pi running OpenWRT & eth1 = PC) have a VPN connection.
With the OpenVPN turned ON, only the Pi (eth0) has a VPN connection
However, the device connected to eth1 is not using the OpenVPN tunnel (as shown by ipleak.net).
