this seems to be a 32bit firmware, probably why wifi is working without more ram
I could not find a technician that would reball a 1gb ram chip for it so I bought AX3000T from xiaomi that was cheaper than my AX1800

This is a good decision, the AX1800 was a deadborn device with a lot of problems and was discontinued very quickly.

may you give me an instruction how to install nwrt on my AX1800 (AX1800, Black Tower)? I have SSH access, but forgot the login webinterface password.

My goal ist actually to somehow use the device as an Wifi5 Bridge to my FritzBox and find the best way to work together. I guess there is still no way for a FritzMesh-Integration. I also wanna use the Ax1800 as an Wireguard-Server. So I think maybe I can just use an fitting .IPK of openwrt to use it and wanna get rid of the bloatware like the iot-things in the device like an "192.168.32.x/24" network.
Update
I remember a video where a guy adapted wireguard just through adding the openwrt support sites. I just don't know which sources are correct for my kernel and this oem image.
Is there maybe an official support in sight of Xiaomi?
Any news about an NWRT for this device?

For those who have already tested several of these unofficial ports based on OpenWRT, could you tell me, based on your experience, which one is the best for my case: I want to use the Redmi AX5 only for NAT, I want to do SQM of a 1Gb download and upload connection, I don't need WiFi (I will use a Xiaomi AX3000T for this), so it needs to be a firmware that works well with the original 256MB RAM. Any help is welcome, thank you very much!

Hello everyone, I want to downgrade the ax1800 firmware to enable ssh. I tried all the solutions above but none worked. "File verification failed".
flash version 1.0.16 using tftp recovery method. the tutorial is in the ax5 openwrt page. (start tftp, set pc ip to 192.168.31.100 then connect cable to wan port and plug power cable to router while holding the reset button)

I was in same boat but found Xmir patcher, get it straight from github, you can open ssh change language or update but i didnt go that far yet

So i tried to flash it twice and soft bricked it twice, now when i try ubiformat with factory.ubi on both rootfs it says successful but reboot always to stock firmware...
Any idea or tutorial please, my router is the rm1800 black tower...
Is factory or sysupgrade possible without Uart TFTP ??
