i can see from your last logs the mac is not initialized properly and I believe you need to use dsa format and forget the switch .

note, I use the "get_mac_label_dt" function to retrieve label mac from dts. the label mac for my device is in the art partition, I harvest it from ART in dts and access it through dts aliases node. If you could find out where we can harvest the mac for your device from ,I think you're very close to full functionality. I have a look at it this weekend

Yes, thanks for help! The problem is that I rewrote the old driver for the realtek switch to run on the 6.x kernel, but the switch is connected via the sgmii interface and it has the old phy driver.. Therefore, this configuration is in the file. Unfortunately, my knowledge is not enough to adapt the 8367s to DSA..

I got the serial to work on AX53 V1 (with help from ChatGPT) by soldering a BSS 138 for Q5 and nothing on R105. It seems to be a level-shifter for 3.3 to 1.8 v logic but if the CPU can take 3.3 v a short would work too.

I was able to build the next to last commit https://github.com/Angel666/openwrt/tree/8367s and boot it successfully on Archer AX53 V1. Not yet sure what all works but i at least get a shell prompt.

That’s good, but what Linux Kernel is that? (at command prompt uname -a)
Current OpenWRT mainline is 6.6, with 6.12 in place in many targets (so you’d want to target 6.12 to get into mainline).

I believe it's 6.6 but I'll double check. as a first step I would like to get a fully functional build on 6.6.

You’ll want to find the last common commit, and then rebase the additional commits back against the OpenWRT mainline branch.
Fix up the conflicts, get it building, then get it running without quite so many errors / warnings… you should then be able to break the additional code changes up into commits and PRs against the OpenWRT mainline…

Looks like the AX 53 has a different ethernet chip. According to google it’s 8367C.

It looks like some modifications may be required to accommodate this 8367c switch, a quick google suggested that the driver might be capable of handling it if there were some tweaks (i.e to support the additional PHY port, to support more than RGMII, and the second extension port).

The datasheet does seem to be out there though, so that should make things easier for you
