Add OpenWrt support for Xiaomi "Redmi AX6000"

Hello everyone
I really need help.
I have done a successful uboot mod installation following the instructions from this page:
I then manually created the firmware on the website:
And I went to Luci, flashed the firmware with file mediatek-filogic-xiaomi_redmi-router-ax6000-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin I downloaded above. Then my router rebooted by itself. After rebooting, now the led is no longer on, I plug in the LAN wire and I don't get the IP anymore. The LED doesn't come on even when I disconnect the power and plug it back in but I still think the router is running due to the network card status change on my computer when I unplug the LAN cord and plug it back in.
Now I have to do? I don't have the knowledge or tools to interfere with the router's hardware.

@daiyeqi can you help me? :pensive:

What? Seems dangerous. I only ever build my own. To continue debugging you will likely need serial access to the device. See the wiki.

Sometimes multiple power cycles (I think, six) will get it to boot out of a bad state. But without lit LEDs it doesn't sound too promising. You should NEVER install random firmware you find on the internet, that is just asking for problems.

I tried rebooting the router 6 times but nothing happened. I'm using ubootmod but it seems tftp recovery doesn't work as mentioned in openwrt's website

So the consensus with recent issues reported is that it's best to stay on OpenWrt 23.05 RC2 for the time being? I was going to try a newer snapshot as it's been over a month since last RC but will avoid doing so if there's breaking issues.

I build a new snapshot with most kernel updates, no issues.

My search skills are failing me, where does one change the color of the LEDs on this thing?

Was something like the below by changing the RGB values.

echo "0 255 31" > /sys/class/leds/rgb:network/multi_intensity
echo "255 0 127" > /sys/class/leds/rgb:status/multi_intensity

Thanks, added a subsection to the wiki:

Initcall sequence failed.... I met this problem on riscv implementation of mainline u-boot... Not sure we share the same reason but this commit is the reason on my side:
Revert the root.c part of this commit would fix.

How did you revert the hostapd update? I have devices which connect fine, then randomly disconnect. When I try reconnect I get Incorrect Password.

Is the current 23.05-snapshot safe for install on the AX6000? I already have it running with ubootmod, just wondering if it's safe to upgrade.

Running a recent snapshot from master (~5 days ago) and no issues

Iā€™m still having this issue: on a snapshot from 2 days ago. You may want to hold off for now if everything is working well as is.

I was lucky, the snapshot (not snapshot, rather 22.03-snapshot) i flashed works flawlessly, 25 days uptime and counting.

Does this router have 2.5 gig ports or not?
