It would be nice to have such an option to add comments to interfaces and firewall rules for better understanding.

On my system, the firewall "names" appear as comments when browsing the firewall status page. Just FYI.
The port idea sounds cool. To be clear, you do mean the physical ports as pictured and not the OpenWrt interface name, correct?

Firewall comments would be nice since the only clue now is the name and when the rules stack up in the 50 or 100+ then only a very short single line name get useless.

As @flygarn12 mentioned already, when quantity of your rules is getting bigger that 40 - it's a little bit difficult to find needed rule using only their names.
From what I understood from documentation, on the second screenshot - logical ports, on the third - physical ports. So I'd like to be able to add comments for both types.
The main idea is to make OpenWRT more understandable and increase observability. To be able to response to questions
- What does this rule do?
- What's the purpose on that VPN interface?
- Who is connected to this physical port?
I have over 100 rules, but I was also mindful of the names (comments) when choosing.
