Never tried it actually. I don't have Smart TV (Kodi doesn't count) to test it. I have Chromecast but Google doesn't deliver ads in my country
- Is it possible to add a site that will be blocked but not displayed in the blocking statistics?
- Is there a command that erases statistics on blocks, etc.?
Block obscene material without such blocking being identifiable? If so, how about you use Cloudflare’s family filter? That won’t show up.
I have 2 sites that are spammed and blocked, but because of them it is difficult to view the general statistics. I would just like them not to be displayed in the statistics but continue to be blocked.
Nope
Stop adblock and remove all *.pcap files in your reporting dir (by default in /tmp/adblock-report), restart adblock afterwards.
it's a pity
thanks for the answer!
Is it possible to make Resolve IPs in Advanced Report Settings also convert ipv6?
It already does. The names simply aren't in the DNS tables for the SLAAC generated ones, including those ULAs that you show above. I know of no package that scans for SLAAC and adds them to DNS, so you need to write some code if you want them to be present.
found the problem, thanks
Why is the resource mask.icloud.com blocked even though it is on the whitelist?
I use the blocklist resource adguard L, I checked it, mask.icloud.com is not on it.
Please post the output of /etc/init.d/adblock query mask.icloud.com
Thank you, I figured out how to view it.
Indeed, icloud.com is in the block list, but I can't figure out which one.
Downloaded adb_list.adguard.gz, unpacked it and viewed it via notepad, this domain is not in it.
I think I got it. Is this why it's being blocked?
Line 19348: com.http-icloud
Line 19351: com.https-icloud
So the whitelist has a lower priority?
Just a random question. Why do you whitelist mask.icloud.com? You use DNS blocking software... and intentionally whitelist canary domain of DoH which renders DNS blocking useless.
@dibdot I used to use your Adblock for many years , especially during it's initial first few years of development. I stepped away the past couple of years trying AdGuardHome. Now I am setting up Adblock again and have everything working beautifully. Such a smooth process.
I figured out how to have 3 different dnsmasq instances access the same blocklist location /tmp/dnsmasq.d
which involved some tricks because each instance has it's own custom conf-dir with different SafeSearch settings. I am so happy with it right now.
And yet after overcoming the more intricate parts of the setup, I have the most noob of noob questions for you.
How can I control when Adblock updates the blocklists?
Would it involve adding something like /etc/init.d/adblock reload
to crontab with a specified amount of hours?
I was digging through the Adblock documentation and could not figure it out. I wonder if this is something that can get added to the luci-app-adblock UI to make setting up blocklist updates (ie. every 6 hours, every 24 hours, etc.)
As always, thank you for your time.
EDIT: Sorry, I had completely missed the Refresh Timer button on the main settings page.
Click on the "Refresh Timer..." button on the Adblock front management page and it will walk you through setting up the update (but, yes, it's just setting up a cron job as you describe).
Awesome! I can’t believe I missed that. Thank you so much, I appreciate it.
Hi,
I have found a problem in adblock-4.2.2-r3 & dnsmasq with the Report where certain domains produce both OK and NX responses which cause the domain to be double reported.
Looking at the tcpdump files, an AAAA request gets a 'No answer' in nslookup rather than NXDOMAIN whereas an A request gets the IPv4 address.
Looking at the awk script, it defaults to NX unless an OK is received which explains the incorrect reporting but my skills aren't sufficient to give a suggested correction.
Examples of the domains are:
hc-2-us-va-1.services.vnc.com
broadcast.live.bbctvapps.co.uk
Many thanks for any help
Found 3 more domains that are on the blocklist, but they are on the whitelist.
3.ru.pool.ntp.org
0.ru.pool.ntp.org
1.ru.pool.ntp.org
At the same time, 2.ru.pool.ntp.org is not blocked
What's the list which is blocking NTP?
BTW, keeping in mind fast degradation of IT neutrality I would seriously consider not relying on ntp.org. You can use (Stratum 1 unlike Stratum 2 from NTP pool):
