So yes, I also use the TIF list, but that shouldn't account for such a big difference. From memory without TIF I see 92% or something. I guess you need to figure out how to configure DHCP/DNS correctly. Try searching through this forum for DNS entries, etc.
I'm not an expert on this configuration aspect of OpenWrt.
