Just installed Mobaxterm, where exactly is the file browser option in it? I could only find the ssh terminal page.
Okay, did everything in the steps as mentioned, got the 2.4ghz wifi working only on N mode with max trans rate capped at 100mbps. 5ghz mode didn't work, so reverted back to stock. Is there absolutely no bug free method to get openwrt working on the router? It's a shame because the hardware is top notch, if only the dev team could dedicate a little bit of energy towards a build for it.
Also, winscp was much easier to use for a explorer style navigation.

That message is indirectly caused by ath10k's firmware, there isn't much to be done there - other than trying newer versions and hoping QCA will fix it one day.

I just follow the instruction and always make a backup of things that need to delete. That's all 
And have you updated your router to latest version of openwrt ? It work really good except vlan bugs.
Tried it all dude, nothing seems to fix the wifi problem. Something is always not working, so I'm giving up on this dream hunt.

The -master / snapshot image has a updated 3.5.3 firmware that fixes it.
On IPQ40XX devices that don't need a customized ipq-wifi package, because the board data has been upstreamed, can just grab that file, install it and reload ath10k_pci (or reboot) in order to get the improvements.
Please also leave a strongly worded PR, if the updated firmwares have helped. OpenWrt does not come with a built-in popularity contest and the download stats for the individual package is useless because it's part of the -master/snapshot image. So, if there is a patch/change that you like to see backported to 18.06.2 please let the devs with commit access: https://github.com/orgs/openwrt/people know.

For me everything works well now. After i used the procedure @chunkeey gave earlier.
Had happened earlier that ac won't work in snapshot, and earlier in zyxmon firmware, and it was because of some ipk file update, using opkg. So I'd just not update through opkg and stay on latest firmware. Will try this new firmware.

which OpenWRT version are you using for Chunkeey's method?
18.06.1. check you didn't download snapshot. Also if WiFi is working but ac is not try the firmware @chunkeey gave. You can upload the ipk to TMP folder and then navigate run opkg install /TMP/filename.ipk, reboot and check if that fixes.
