802.1x implementation

I am planning the following:

  • install OpenVpn, Freeradius and Slapd on dedicated VM's on my Ganeti cluster
  • Ethernet and WiFi connection within LAN should be authorized and authenticated by the radius and LDAP
  • Dynamic VLAN assignment depending on LDAP group --> is it supported?
  • Port forwarding for VPN connections
    My questions:
  1. Does the switch support the 802.1x protocol?
  2. If not what are the possibilities to achieve similar scenario?
  3. Is it better to configure these services on the router directly?
