802.11s through QCA9880 issue?

I am attempting to set up a mesh point on my Archer C7 v5, using the a/c radio (Qualcomm Atheros QCA9880 802.11ac/n)

However, upon creating the mesh point, the entry under the Wireless tab in LuCi shows "disabled" and is not transmitting. I was wondering if there is a known incompatibility between this chip and 802.11s or something such at that?
I have tried to research but can't see anything for sure that would confirm or deny it.

I have downloaded the package wpad-mesh-mbedtls to allow mesh functionality.

You need ath10k firmware (its using ath10k-firmware-qca9880-ct by default, you need ath10k-firmware-qca9880)

I had that in my installed packages list, but just to be sure, I reinstalled kmod-ath10k-ct. It doesn't seem to have made a difference unfortunately.

That’s the driver. Read again.
Edited slightly to make it more understandable.

I see, thank you
