i have the same issue here

So the server is down for whatever reason. Since OpenWRT is a community run project depending on volunteers to run and administrate the project hardware do not expect it back up quickly but fairly quickly.

Much of openwrt.org appears to be down. For example, https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/23.05.5/targets/ returns this:

Also, no response from https://one.openwrt.org/ I'm reporting here because even their website issue reporter is down. Not sure who else to contact.

Or it’s Saturday so I wouldn't be surprised if someone is doing maintenance somewhere.

I am also stuck setting up a newly arrived OpenWRT One router. Is anyone aware of a mirror for a 23.05 firmware image for the MT7981B? Any stable release would be enough for me.

That image never existed. 24.10 is oldest supporyed.
You can add random whitespace in fw selector uci default box to bupass now down dl server copy.
