I have a Sophos XG 85w Rev 3 device (Intel Atom E3930 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 8 GB eMMC) running ext4 non-UEFI firmware. Tried upgrading it to 24.10 using auc
; it upgraded, but got stuck on boot less than three seconds in. Tried booting 24.10 (ext4 non-UEFI) from a USB stick, appears to be the same error. Here's the tail end of the boot log as seen on the console:

After that, full stop. The device doesn't react even to the power button, whether it's a short press or a long press. Pulling the power cable is the only way out.
Booting the latest 23.* from a USB stick is completely unproblematic; installation of the latest 23.* also causes no issues.
The issue has been replicated on a second device, so it doesn't look like a single unit misbehaving...
