I went from 23.05.5 x86_64 combined-EFI to version 24.10.0 x86_64. I'm sure I'm using the WAN SFP+ connection for internet since it worked in version 23.05.5.
I'm going back to 23.05.5, I can't install anything using 24.10, no internet connection.
OK, writing this 15 minutes later. Reinstalled 23.05.5 to a SSD booted the drive. Then added the my 4 RJ45 jacks to my LAN. Issued opkg update and successful.
This confirms something is awry with 24.10.0 connecting to the internet with X86_64.
Did you install any necessary drivers for the ethernet cards (both the lan side and the wan/SFP)?
Obviously, if you didn't and you can't connect, there is a chicken-or-egg problem. But you can create a customized image using the firmware selector that includes the necessary driver packages.
Yea, I'll stick with 23.05.5 until an official version for X86_64 shows up in Attended System Upgrade. No more hacks for me
