21.02 / TPLINK Archer C7 V4 / 5ghz signal strength

Has anyone noticed a drop in 5GHZ signal strength on 21.02 vs 19.07.8 (TPLINK Archer C7 V4) ? Performance near the router was normal but very poor at the out lying edges of my house .

I had to revert back to 19.07.8 .

I have no details so when I go back to 21.02 what info should I be gathering/looking at in order to figure out my issue ?

I installed 20.02.1 and ran iwinfo and here are the results

wlan0 ESSID: "ollie5"
          Access Point: 50:C7:BF:DE:51:7B
Mode: Master Channel: 36 (5.180 GHz)
          Center Channel 1: 42 2: unknown
          Tx-Power: 20 dBm Link Quality: 57/70
Signal: -53 dBm Noise: -103 dBm
          Bit Rate: 212.0 MBit/s
          Encryption: WPA2 PSK (CCMP)
          Type: nl80211 HW Mode(s): 802.11nac
          Hardware: 168C:003C 0000:0000 [Qualcomm Atheros QCA9880]
          TX power offset: none
          Frequency offset: none
Supports VAPs: yes PHY name: phy0

These numbers differ considerably from 19.07.8

wlan0 ESSID: "ollie5"
          Access Point: 50:C7:BF:DE:51:7B
Mode: Master Channel: 36 (5.180 GHz)
          Tx-Power: 23 dBm Link Quality: 35/70
Signal: 35 dBm Noise: -103 dBm
          Bit Rate: 277.1 MBit/s
          Encryption: WPA2 PSK (CCMP)
          Type: nl80211 HW Mode(s): 802.11nac
          Hardware: 168C:003C 0000:0000 [Qualcomm Atheros QCA9880]
          TX power offset: none
          Frequency offset: none
Supports VAPs: yes PHY name: phy0

I'm not sure what the fix for this might be

So why is the transmit power being set down to 20 on 21.02 ?

Is this a bug ?

Is there anyway for me to force it back to 23 ? I tied adding option 'txpower' '23' to the config file and it did nothing .

I found this info for this device's wireless

· CE EIRP: <20dBm(2.4GHz), <23dBm(5GHz)

· FCC Transmit Power: <30dBm(2.4GHz & 5GHz

So the issue as was pointed out to me by user craz was all I needed to do was set the country code to US . Never had to do this before but thats OK
