18.06.3 how is it going? --> 18.06.4 --> 19.07 coming soon

What "issue"?

Occurs on snapshot and 18.06.3 (no longer available at this time).

hello!
how come https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/18.06.3 was there like 2 days ago, now on Jun 25 2019 it is missing?

i built it on D-LINK DIR 860L B1 and Linksys WRT perfectly, what target are you experiencing errors? (On R-PI3 I could not build it)

buildbot error but there is a topic

See my link above (powerpc_464fp). Also see: Uci_load_validate: not found - this user also lost LuCI on that first build of .3

Most current snapshot (OpenWrt SNAPSHOT, r10325-b16faf9bc7/LuCI git-19.175.17568-86fd703-1) is working now though.

but is it because of the wrong buildbot error, or is it because of a self build?
because with my self build it is workikng perfectly.

it looks like the buildobots are crunching by now with proper builds, here is this email:

Slightly later, than March :sunglasses:

i got a few (3) targets the builds perfectly:

https://cdn.corifeus.com/openwrt/18.06.3/
(Linksys WRT, D-LINK DIR 860L B1, R-PI 3 and all latest NodeJs v12 and many pre built binary packages.)

So?
There has not been any problem in the actual building of 18.06, 19.07 or master, but just in the buildbot's handling of git context, which led to broken repo contents at the download site.

in my case

I have issue building IPX4018 using 18.06.3 the resulting image is too large to fit (it does not matter if i choose less packages)

19.07 builds the same target without issue

what is this new version 18.06.4? it was tagged about 14 hours ago...

thanks heads up, i just noticed some of the changelogs, looks like some kernel updates non critical that i notice
https://git.openwrt.org/?p=openwrt/openwrt.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/tags/v18.06.4

Not to complain but i find it odd were talking about 18.06.4 with 18.06.3 not even fully compiled and released to general public
Also 19.07 soon to drop... I assume the naming conventions matches the YEAR.Month

My only experience with building is some Debian vm with pre installed packages(precompiled packages) and image builder (https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/additional-software/imagebuilder) to add things like ssh/openvpn and now wireguard to the vanilla build .

I'm using the wiki https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-developer/build-system/start, but i'm unsure how to even start, because I know i install git, but i don't use it on a weekly or monthly basis so im not even sure how to not point my branch to master and 18.06.4. Perhaps someone can point me to a different guide in the interim?

I've been itching to flash since the announcement of the release, and so if anyone can link me a guide to build for 18.06.4 or even 18.06.3 because i've been waiting a week to download the ar71xx imagebuilder for archer c7 v2 to add ssl. I'll continue to look around. I might wait for the 19.07 releases to be stable later down the road.

here's one

Or just build off master. Other than needing "release" builds for testing upgrades, I can't remember the last time I ran one since I started building my own images.

Apparently devs decided to avoid confusion and to skip the 18.06.3 that was miscompiled by buildbot, and will compile and release 18.06.4 instead.

Its contents can be seen from the git logs, like always. Like Jeff already quoted above, simply a kernel version bump and small fixes for uqmi. Nothing special.

Buildbot has been compiling since yesterday morning... http://release-builds.openwrt.org/18.06/images/grid
(And the 18.06.4 download directory seems to be hidden, so that people cannot download binaries before the official release.)

just to calm everyone, i built all packages and firmwares of the mvbeu (eg linksys wrt) and the build took 4 hours and everything is perfect.
