1037u vs RPi4 B 2GB

Hi guys

I'm looking for something that could handle 550mbps SQM cake + adguard home. I'm able to get both devices at a similar price (Pi with USB 1gbps adapter + big heatsink, Celeron has dual NIC).Sporadically I will use OpenVPN, so it would be good to predict which device could achieve a higher speed despite not having hardware AES.
I know that Rpi will use less power but how is the performance compared to the 1037u?
Which one seems better/ more future proof?

x86 is always better, better go with wireguard, maybe You can find fujitsu futro s920 or newer thin client. personaly i like pfsense/ opnsense than openwrt .
