Hello,

ran into a weird issue. Let my lay out what I've done, and what I've found.

I have a GL-iNET GL-MT3000 that I have overlayed a 8GB thumb drive onto to expand the storage. This will be the router in my 4 x 4 conversion van and running the custom lighting I am putting into it via diyhue.

Created a backup at this point using tar of the /overlay/ directory which I have successfully used as a restore point.

Attempted to get the diyhue openwrt install running but could never get the website to load. Beat my head against it for a day, and after giving up on that, decided to try the docker route yesterday.

Rolled back using the backup. Deployed and configured docker and deployed the container using a combination of webui which timed out, and ssh to run the command to bring up both versions of the diyhue container

docker run -d --name diyHue --restart=always --network=host -e MAC=94:83:C4:42:69:FB -v /mnt/hue-emulator/config:/opt/hue-emulator/config diyhue/core:latest

docker run -d --name diyHue2 --restart=always --network=bridge -v /mnt/hue-emulator/config:/opt/hue-emulator/config -e MAC=94:83:C4:42:69:FB -e' IP=192.168.1.1 -p 80:80/tcp -p 443:443/tcp -p 1900:1900/udp -p 2100:2100/udp -p 1982:1982/udp diyhue/core:latest

Hue Essentials was able to connect to the DIY Hue container on the routers external IP address. But I lost the ability to connect to the luci WebUI.

Adjusted ./etc/config/uhttpd to port 82 per the DIYHUE instructions for running on openwrt. as I lost the ability to access the luci UI when Did not adjust the ports in /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf as once I adjusted them in uhttpd I was able to access the luci interface at http://192.168.1.1:82:/cgi-bin/luci or https://192.168.1.1/cgi-bin/luci

Everything looks to be working properly, rebooted several times and verified it was working and coming back up properly. Got lights from my Official Hue Bridge Imported into my Virtual Hue Bridge. Verified the ability to control them via the Hue Essentials App. and went to bed.

Got up this morning and I no longer have access to the http://192.168.1.1:82:/cgi-bin/luci or https://192.168.1.1/cgi-bin/luci sites. Still have SSH access and looked around to do a little trouble shooting.

went in and adjusted the ports in /etc/config/uhttpd

 ```list listen_http '0.0.0.0:8082'
        list listen_http '[::]:8082'
        list listen_https '0.0.0.0:8443'
        list listen_https '[::]:8443'```
and adjusted the ports in /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf to match just in case as the DIYhue install on openwrt called for that, restarted the uhhtp and lighttpd daemons and no changes.
reran the netstat -anl and no changes.   From the ports it does not seem to be changing the listening ports.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Misread MT3000 for MT300, sorry!
But the overlay on a thumb drive comment still applies!
This was discontinued many years ago and only has 64MB ram with its 580MHz SoC, so none of this should be a surprise...
It still makes a fairly reasonable travel router in non demanding situations but is not up to doing much else.
Its V2 replacement is somewhat better with 128MB RAM and a better SoC. It makes a pretty decent entry level router as long as you can make do without 5GHz radio.
To be honest, I am amazed you got as far as you did.....
Running with an overlay on a usb thumb drive is fraught with difficulties, not least from a potential power supply problem. You will need at least a 2 amp usb supply to drive the mt300n, the usb drive and the wireless radio when it is transmitting.
I would suggest a serious review of the hardware requirement before going any further.....
well according to my Kill A Watt EZ, I'm pulling .08 Amps, 122-123v 5.8-6.2 wats with the current configuration. Which puts it at 11.2 Amp hours used per day against my 800AH battery / DC-DC Solar Charger, inverter charger and absolutely BURY's the 120-150w (281 AH) that a Starlink router would call for If it can get the issue with the luci UI not loading figured out, it looks to be a reasonable low power solution for my needs.
